Volunteers play an important part in all areas of Hoopeston Regional Health Center. Volunteer applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
Volunteers are used in a variety of areas within the facility including the Surgery Department, the Nursing Home and the Country Terrace Apartment Complex.
Volunteers are needed for escorting and playing host to patients and family members on surgery days, for assisting assisting and participating in various fun activities with the facility’s residents and to share specific talents to residents of both the Nursing Home and Country Terrace. Volunteer readers and letter/card writers are also very helpful to residents who have difficulty in doing those tasks.
Volunteers are required to complete an application and allow a State felony background check to be ran. It should be noted that the background check is a government mandated requirement for volunteers providing assistance within a healthcare campus. Once the initial application process is complete the volunteer will go through a general orientation program to insure that the volunteer has the information they need about who to check in with upon arriving to volunteer, where to put personal belongings, how to respond during a fire drill and other basics.
