| | Swing Bed Care Program
Hoopeston Regional Health Center offers rehabilitative services to allow patients to “Come back home” near their family, friends and loved ones while they recover from an illness, injury or surgery.
By obtaining services locally, a patient can maintain ongoing contact with their friends and loved ones. This ongoing contact and support can be an important part of making what could be a difficult situation easier for the patient and their caregivers.
Our Swing Bed program allows patients to stay in their own community while receiving the on site therapy and healthcare services they need to return to their home or transition to a new living environment. The low staff to patient ratio provides for more personal contact during the recovery process.
Our therapy staff is highly qualified and trained and have a great reputation for an exceptional bedside manner. In addition, we have a board certified Emergency Room physician on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as an extra resource if needed.
The scope of services offered on site to patients in this program includes: Skilled Nursing Care, Physical and Occupational Therapy, Social Services and Activities, Nutrition Review and the availability of Outpatient Lab and Radiology testing. Swing Bed patients are provided physician care by our onsite Hospitalists*, which are board certified Medical Doctors.
For comfort purposes patients are offered the opportunity to have a DVD/VCR in the room to watch a movie or DVD and a CD player for those who enjoy listening to music.
Qualified Swing Bed stays are often covered by Medicare and other insurances.
*Hospitalist who have privileges to practice at Hoopeston Regional Hospital also known as Hoopeston Community Memorial Hospital are not employees or agents of said hospital. | |
