Hands on Massage Therapy offers manipulation of the soft tissues of the body, such as muscles and related structures. Licensed in general Massage Therapy, Kristi Hudson also has advanced certification in the Dr. Vodder method of Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) and Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT).
CDT enables Ms. Hudson to manage patients with lymphedema and venous insufficiency edema, using a combination of Manual Lymph Drainage [MLD], exercise therapy, compression bandaging, and skin care. Suitable venous edemas may also be managed successfully with these techniques.
MLD can also be used in the care of patients with venous stasis ulceration, wounds, scar tissue, burns, traumatic edema, rosacea, adhesive capsulitis, arthritic conditions, acute whiplash, Menieres Syndrome, migraines, etc. MLD has a pain relieving effect and can be used with recent trauma, such as sport injuries.
General Massage Therapy can benefit the young, the old and all ages in between. There are several general types of massages offered including the Swedish Massage, the Geriatric Massage, the Neruomuscular Therapy and the Seated/On site Massage.
The Swedish Massage helps patients de-stress and unwind during a relaxing hour of calming therapy. Geriatric Massage focuses on range of motion, movement and gentle stretching. The neuromuscular therapy is a comprehensive program of soft tissue manipulation balancing the body’s central nervous system with the musculoskeletal system. Often referred to as the “New Coffee Break” the seated/on site massage is perfect for the office or workplace.
Hands on Massage Therapy offers convenient hours. Appointments can be made by calling Kristi Hudson at 217-283-4012. | |
