HRHC Adds Licensed Dietician to Staff
HOOPESTON, IL (November 10, 2009) – On October 1 the Hoopeston Regional Health Center added a very valuable person to their staff, a Registered Dietician. Sowmya Gurukar, a native of India who has since relocated to Chicago, IL, has officially joined the staff to provide dietary services. These services are not just offered to the residents and patient of the Hoopeston Regional Health Center, they are also available for the people of Hoopeston and surrounding areas.
Sowyma completed a Bachelors degree and Masters degree of science – both in nutrition related fields – before deciding to come to the United States to further her education. Once here she pursued a second Bachelors degree in Dietetics in New Jersey before going on to accrue a very impressive resume of internships and work experience from some of the top hospitals in the United States.
She is loved by everyone who knows her because she takes the time to get to know everyone she is counsels, and has a magnetic personality. But despite her desires to continue in service, and continue her education, she doesn’t spend all her time at work. She loves to play badminton, hike, travel, and practice her cooking skills on her husband, Rajath.
