The facility’s Financial Services Department is very aware that healthcare billing and collections can be confusing. Understanding what deductibles, co-pays and co-insurances that will apply to your account is a very important part of the healthcare billing process.
As a patient, it’s in your best interest to know and understand your insurance plan benefits and your financial responsibilities under that plan. To find out what your insurance plan covers and what your financial obligations may be you should call the Customer Service or Member Services Department of your insurance company. The phone number will be listed on your insurance card.
Patients should be aware that services received in the Emergency Department and testing done in the Radiology Department will result in a second bill being sent. The separate bill is for the Emergency Room Physician Services and for the Radiologist Services, which are separate from the overall facility charges. These two areas are contracted out to independent groups and they bill separately for their portion of the provided care. Questions regarding these bills should be directed to billing contact information noted on your bill or statement.
